Preparation For Your Hot Tub

Updated: Nov 11, 2023

Once you’ve made the decision to invest in a hot tub, it’s time to prepare your garden or indoor space for your spa. However, there are quite a few jobs you’ll need to complete before it’s arrival.

As a provider of hot tub accessories, Aqua Spa Supplies can walk you through the set up

process to ensure you're fully prepared for your spa’s arrival.

Prepare Your Surface

Before your hot tub is delivered, it’s important to choose the right area to place it. Remember the dry weight of an average hot tub design is 350 to 500 KG and therefore after water, the weight will be near to 2 tonnes.

We recommend a flat concrete base which is 10-15 cm deep. Recently there has been a strong improvement in materials such as composite decking, so please check with your material supplier before using this idea as a base.

Prepare The Location Of Your Hot Tub Model

Location Location, Location! This is vital to the preparation of your hot tub as the last thing you want is to place it in the wrong place.

A hot tub is not like a sofa; it cannot be moved from one side of the garden to the other when you no longer like its placement. Instead, a hot tub should be fitted to a fixed, permanent location where you’ll continue to enjoy it for years to come.

If you are considering a gazebo or summer house for the hot tub, please wait until the hot tub has been delivered first and then build the rest of the building after delivery. That way, you can eliminate any potential access problems.

Make Sure Access is Clear for Delivery

A common problem that hot tub suppliers run into is inaccessible delivery. To make a successful delivery, you will need to ensure your hot tub dealer has clear access from unloading to the final placement point.

We recommend sending images to your supplier so they can map a path to your setup point. If your access is tight and you feel you need a lift via a crane or hiab, make sure to let your supplier know before your delivery date.

Choose The Right Chemicals

Finally, the number one thing you should prepare your hot tub for is it’s monthly cleaning

schedule. Even though our hot tubs come with efficient and effective filter systems, chemicals are vital for all hot tubs to ensure their longevity.

As a hot tub accessories supplier, Aqua Spa Supplies prides itself on offering the best spa

chemicals on the market. Whether you’re looking for hot tub chemicals for sensitive skin or hot tub filters, we have something in store for everyone.
